South London’s Funmi Ohiosumah, professionally known as Flohio is a 25-year old Rapper MC. Her family settled into Bermondsey, in South East London after migrating from Nigeria and because her parents were always working and her older sibling was in boarding school, Funmi had much time on her hands, and with it, music became her focus. Inspired by the golden era of Channel U and rapper Lil Wayne, Funmi eventually became Flohio, and in 2016, she made her debut into the music world by releasing the “Nowhere Near EP.”
Released on June 16, 2016, The EP featured six tracks and included only one featured artist named Cassive, on the song, “Not About,” and “Wayo.” The world would have to wait until 2017 to hear Flohio again, on the track with God Colony called “Fights.” She would then lend a bigger hand to God Colony on the “Where We Were EP,” assisting on three tracks. Last year, in 2018, she decided to release another body of work, an EP called, “Wild Yout.” It’s now 2019, and all the hard-work that Flohio has been putting in is soon coming full circle because she is currently on her headlining tour.
Flohio touched down in Australia back in February, and this month in March she will be performing in spots around North America with the tour finishing up in Europe to follow. A while ago, Flohio interviewed with Crack, and she said, “I want my music to take me all around the world – end of,” she concludes. “I want to get paid to make people happy and love each other.” After working hard these past couples of years, releasing her own body of work, featuring on artists works, at 25, she’s living that quote. She is a true testament to where hard-work can get you.
